June is full of summer memories being made. You will want to meet your pinners where they are in their journey right now.

Trends for June

June is the month that Summer kicks off even though the beginning of summer techinally isn’t until June. You have kids getting out of school, summer camps, bar-b-ques, weddings… the list goes on.

I was just walking through Walmart this week and they have already started selling fans and swimming pools. Not to mention the fruit themed dishes hitting the shelves.

June is hot so you want to think about things to do outside. Pinners are going to be searching for topics related to gardening and outdoor dining.

Pinners are even going to be looking for holiday decor ideas. 

Start pinning topics related to:

  • Swimsuits & Swim Fashion
  • Father’s Day
  • Fashion Week
  • Back to College
  • Back to School
  • Drink Ideas
  • Party Snacks
  • Vacation Planning
  • Productivity
  • Family Activity Ideas
  • Travel Planning Tips
  • Gardening

Promoting Pins in June

Believe it or not if you are looking to promote pins for June now is the time to start planning that campaign.

If you have content related to any of the above topics and you’d like to get eyes on it in numbers then now is the time to go ahead and get those pins promoted.

Topics around back to school, productivity for summer, summer activities for kids and family vacation planning to name a few.

My best performing campaigns for lead generation have typically been to landing pages. Blog posts haven’t converted subscribers as well but it’s worth a shot to test it for your audience.

Planning Content for July & Beyond

Now is the time to start planning content for July & August. It’s time to start pinning for topics that are typically hot in July & August. Whether or not you are ready for it. Pinners are planners. They are planning ahead of time.

Typically you will start pinning about a topic 30-45 days in advance at a minimum.

If you are looking for content to create around these months you should consider some of the following:

  • Woodworking
  • Gardening
  • Beachy things like beach towels
  • Summer fashion
  • Summer hairstyles
  • Awards season
  • Fall sports
  • Back to School
  • Back to College
  • Prime day (think early Christmas shopping!)
  • Playroom organization
  • Organization
  • Productivity
  • Time Management
  • Schedules
  • Chores
  • Routines
  • Weddings
  • Vacations
  • Grilling
  • Drinks to Cool Off

Holidays/Events in June

  • National Men’s Health Month
  • Pride Month
  • International Yoga Day

Holidays/Events in July

  • 4th of July
  • Canada Day
  • Back to School Month

Holidays/Events in August

  • Back to School Month
  • National Breastfeeding Awareness Month

These ideas aren’t the beginning and end of the list. Obviously, not everyone is in the same niche but this gives you an idea of what you can start pinning. If you are in the B2B niche think about what business owners are facing right now with Summer being here.

Working moms and dads might be looking for productivity tips, home office, delegating and outsourcing, passive income ideas and more.

Think about where your pinner is in their journey and pin what their pain points are going to be for that timeframe.

You may even want to launch a new opt-in or series around these themes. Now is the time to plan and get it ready to launch.

Action Item for June

If you have older pins you can update to include some of these themes start doing that now.

Go back to older posts and update them with links to new seasonal content you’ve created.

Then create new pins with a seasonal theme and publish them.
