I find a lot of podcasters miss a giant opportunity to woo new subscribers by leaving out Pinterest in their marketing strategy. To be honest Pinterest would take the least amount of time to implement vs the massive investment in social media.
Plus there are people on Pinterest looking for a variety content every day.
So this post is going to help you to understand exactly how to use Pinterest in your podcast marketing strategy.
In this post I’m going to give you 2 examples of how you can create a Podcast content strategy to get more people to convert.
Long form content is going to be critical for getting more SEO juice behind your podcast on Google… but on Pinterest you will also want long-form content to convert your audience better.
Because Pinterest users have been trained to click on pins and read blog content you will likely see better conversions to podcast downloads if you use blog posts as show notes.
Not only that but Pinterest users are very much in decision mode when they find your content. Help them with that by breaking down key points you made and make the case for listening to the full episode.
There are a handful of ways to go about transcribing your content to text if you don’t want to write a separate post.
There are others but I have only ever used Otter.io and Rev so I can’t speak for the others.
My vote if I were your content strategist would be to create a full length blog post detailing the podcast in text. Now hear me out…
You could have a bigger audience if you were to cater to a different learning style.
Let’s take a look at an example of this in action.
Jenna Kutcher has her team write long form blog content for her podcast episodes then place those on Pinterest to drive traffic back to the site.
She embeds the links talked about in her posts and has a call to action on each episode.
This is what I see the most often for show notes or worst of all someone just uses the Lisbyn website for show notes.
Please never give your traffic away for free by sending someone to a third-party website for show notes!
At the very least send them to a shorter form summary style on your own website.
A great example of this is Amy Porterfield.
